The new 2013 Ford Escape set to be in the market this spring of 2012. As of April, the assembly team at the Louisville Assembly Plant is honing its skills and mastering the ropes in the art of making another world-class car. The factory itself has also been upgraded to help the assembly team craft the new Escape from the ground up. What makes the new Escape worth waiting for?
That's the exciting part: it's not yet out in the market but you can tell that it's good. For years, the Ford Escape has been one of the brand's best-selling compact SUVs in the market. Believe it or not, the Escape was designed with the help of Mazda, in which it released its own compact SUV at the same day the Escape was released.

The first two generations of the Escape featured a simple, box-like design typical of many SUVs. Ford wanted to introduce a new futuristic concept for the 2013 Ford Escape simply by thinking outside the box. You can see that the rear side window for the new Escape is in an inverted trapezoid shape, different from the rhombus shape from the past generations.

The new Escape measures 178.1 inches (4.52 m) in length, 72.4 inches (1.84 m) in width, 66.3 inches (1.68 m) in height, while it rides on a 105.9 inch (2.69 m) wheelbase. This version will only be available with front-wheel drive.

The new Escape's suspension utilizes McPherson struts up front and an independent, semi-trailing arm configuration at the rear. The new, “Intelligent” four-wheel drive system uses an electromagnetic clutch. The Escape is also Ford’s first SUV to feature the firm's Curve Control and Torque Vectoring Control.

Ford claims to offer technologies that are not available in any other rival including the Sync infotainment system that sports the upgraded MyFord Touch driver connect technology.
