Audi has decided to accept BMW's challenge to present sporty models with diesel engines under the M Performance moniker by introducing its first ever "S" model powered by an oil-burner, the New Audi SQ5 TDI.

The new top model of its recently revised Q5 model series sports a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 diesel delivering a frisky 308hp (313PS) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque between 1,450 and 2,800 rpm.

The website that posted the photos says that the production car will launch in Europe with a choice of four petrol engines, including a 1.2-liter three-cylinder unit with 74hp (75PS) and 84hp (85PS), a more sprightly 1.2-liter TSI turbo with 104hp (105PS) and a 1.4-liter TSI turbo with 120hp (122PS). The diesel range is said to include a 1.6-liter TDI CR with 104hp (105PS) and from 2013, a 1.6-liter TDI CR with 89hp (90PS).

Ending several months of spy shots and close ups of prototype models, Kia today officially lifted the covers off the facelifted Sorento crossover that will be sold in the U.S as a 2014 model. The exterior changes are concentrated on the two ends with Kia’s designers having created new headlamps with LED positioning lights, a re-styled tailgate with LED taillights, and re-sculptured front and rear bumpers with vertical-axis fog lights, plus a new selection alloy wheel designs up to 19-inches in size.
